Meet Doug

From a small village in Rock Creek South Dakota on the Standing Rock Reservation of the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota Nations. Doug Good Feather came from humble beginnings. On the cusp of the change from the old ways to the western ways as we know them today, he has taken with him the values of the beautiful Lakota people. Being raised by his Grandpa’s and his Grandma’s, they showed him from a young age how to work hard and what it means to be a warrior.

Doug has overcome addiction, personal traumas and War to be where he is at today. He is a counselor and Executive Director of the Non-profit Lakota Way Healing Center focused on helping our people, Veterans/Civilians with PTSD, Addiction, Suicide prevention and helping our homeless with basic needs. Because of the hardships he has persevered through in his own life he has been able to implement this with in his teaching as well as the teachings of the Lakota. Being raised with his culture gave him his identity, confidence and ambitions.

Doug is a Fluent speaker of the Lakota language an Iraq War Veteran (2 tours), Stage and Screen Actor, International Native American Cultural Ambassador, Grammy Award Winning Lakota Singer, Scholar of Psychology and Counseling, Public Speaker, Nation Builder and Life Coach.

At 3 years old Doug’s grandpas thought him The Punka Nations Fancy War Dance. For over a decade, Doug has traveled around the world doing workshops, speeches, performing arts, media appearances as a professional speaker educating and using this dance and the philosophy of the Lakota culture to heal and inspire others. Giving over 1,000 presentations for corporations, associations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Doug is an author of the book, Think Indigenous and through his Lakota art a clothing designer. His love for life, his culture, family and people are what drives him today as he continues to help the world.
